Principal Maston

Bio: It is with immense joy and anticipation that I step into the role of principal at Sam Tasby Middle School. The opportunity to serve at a school with a profound legacy, named after the esteemed Sam Tasby, is a true honor. I am thrilled to become a part of this vibrant community renowned for its exceptional staff, students, and parents.

My journey to Tasby has been enriched by over 20 years of experience in Dallas ISD. I have had the privilege of serving in various capacities, including teacher, Campus Instructional Coach, Assistant Principal, and, most recently, Principal Resident. My diverse experience spans across elementary, middle, and high school, teaching a wide range of subjects. This breadth of experience has equipped me with a deep understanding of the educational landscape and a commitment to student success.

My educational background consists of a Master of Education Administration from Lamar University, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Tarleton State University. I will graduate on August 17, 2024, with my Educational Doctorate in Learning and Organizational Change at Baylor University. I am certified by the Texas State Board of Education: Principal Certification, ESL Supplemental, and English Language Arts and Reading.

My vision for Sam Tasby Middle School is excellence for all…Through a collaborative effort with leadership, counselors, and staff, we hope to bring the best out of your students. I value your child’s education as if it were my own children’s education. I look forward to working in partnership with you and the community to make Sam Tasby an exemplary middle school during my tenure.

I have been happily married to my wonderful husband for 14 amazing years. We have two beautiful and active daughters, Camille and Carmyn. I am also a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, the Dallas School Administrators Association (DSAA), and the Association of Hispanic School Administrators.
